Wrexham Man Sentenced for Selling Life-Ending Chemical Online

UPDATE: A man from Wrexham, North Wales, is facing sentencing after his online business selling a life-ending chemical resulted in the tragic deaths of two individuals. Miles Cross, aged 33, admitted to charges of encouraging or assisting suicide after supplying the substance to four customers for £100 each.

Cross operated his illicit business through an internet discussion forum, where he used a pseudonym to evade detection. He joined the platform in July 2024 and provided a QR code for direct orders and payments to his bank account. The chemical, which was delivered by post, is linked to two confirmed suicides, raising serious concerns about online safety and mental health support.

In January 2025, police executed a search warrant at Cross’s residence, uncovering the deadly chemical and related paraphernalia. Investigators connected him to the online forum, various social media profiles, and his bank accounts through analysis of seized devices.

Cross has been implicated in the deaths of four individuals, including a 26-year-old woman who died in West Yorkshire on August 22, 2024. The identities of the other three victims remain under reporting restrictions due to ongoing investigations.

The sentencing is set for Wednesday, January 7, 2025, at 9:45 AM at Mold Crown Court. This case underscores the urgent need for enhanced regulations around online sales of hazardous substances and greater mental health support for vulnerable individuals.
