URGENT UPDATE: A Yorkshire woman has been banned from driving for 30 months after crashing her Range Rover while more than three times over the legal alcohol limit. Andrea Williams, 53, from Hemlington, North Yorkshire, admitted to drink-driving following the incident that occurred shortly after 9 AM on September 9.
Authorities report that Williams lost control of her vehicle, veering off the road on A1044 Low Lane near Jack Simon Way, and plowing through a row of bushes. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the crash. Eyewitness photos show the Range Rover lodged among the shrubbery, underscoring the severity of the incident.
Williams pleaded guilty to one count of drink-driving during a hearing at Teesside Magistrates’ Court on October 22. She confessed to operating the vehicle after “consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in your blood, namely 283 ug/l milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood, exceeded the prescribed limit.” The legal limit is 80 milligrams of alcohol per 100 ml of blood.
On November 18, District Judge Steven Hood imposed a four-month curfew on Williams, mandating her to remain indoors from 7 PM to 7 AM. In addition to her driving ban, she is required to cover court costs of £199.
This incident highlights the dangers of drink-driving and the serious consequences that follow such reckless behavior. Authorities urge the public to remain vigilant and responsible when it comes to alcohol consumption and driving.
