Urgent: Train Disruptions from Glasgow Central Due to Trespassers

URGENT UPDATE: Significant train disruptions are affecting services from Glasgow Central Station tonight, November 28, after trespassers were spotted on the tracks at Milliken Park. Passengers should prepare for delays as several lines are impacted.

According to Scotrail, ongoing disruption is expected into the evening. Affected routes include:

  • Glasgow Central to Ayr
  • Glasgow Central to Ardrossan Harbour
  • Glasgow Central to Largs
  • Glasgow Central to Gourock
  • Glasgow Central to Wemyss Bay

Despite services being scheduled to run, Scotrail has confirmed on social media platform X that “disruption to services will still be ongoing until our staff and trains are back in position.” Passengers are advised to remain vigilant and check for updates.

To alleviate the impact on travelers, Scotrail has arranged for train tickets to be accepted on local bus routes operated by Stagecoach. This includes all bus routes in the Ayr, Largs, and Ardrossan areas, providing essential connections toward Glasgow in both directions.

Additionally, rail tickets will also be accepted on McGills buses between Milliken Park, Johnstone, and Paisley to Glasgow, specifically on service number 38 in both directions.

The situation remains fluid, and authorities are working diligently to resolve the issue. Passengers are encouraged to stay informed through official channels for the latest updates.

As this story develops, stay tuned for further updates on train services and safety measures. Your safety and convenience are our top priority.
