With the world premiere set for August 1, 2026, at the Curve in Leicester, fans can catch the gripping adaptation at the Theatre Royal in Newcastle from August 18-22, 2026, and later at the Sunderland Empire from June 21-26, 2027.
This highly anticipated stage play, adapted by Gina Gionfriddo, plunges audiences into the psychological tension of the legendary film, starring Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster. The story follows FBI trainee Clarice Starling as she seeks the insights of the infamous psychiatrist and cannibal, Hannibal Lecter, to capture the notorious serial killer, Buffalo Bill. As time runs out, Clarice faces a harrowing decision: maintain her distance or allow Hannibal into her psyche?
Director Nikolai Foster expressed his excitement, stating, “We’ve long wanted to present a Made at Curve thriller onstage in Leicester, and The Silence of the Lambs is surely the most electrifying and frightening of this genre.” The adaptation promises to highlight the complex relationship between Clarice and Hannibal, showcasing the gripping exchanges that define their connection.
