BREAKING: A top Sudanese general has made explosive claims that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is financially backing the ongoing atrocities in Sudan, effectively buying silence from Western politicians. General Yasser al-Atta, a leading member of Sudan’s governing Sovereignty Council, asserted that the UAE is waging a “race war” against the Sudanese people, especially targeting marginalized communities.
During a press dinner near his military headquarters in Omdurman, al-Atta accused UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed of supporting the notorious Rapid Support Forces (RSF), which have been responsible for widespread massacres, particularly in the city of el-Fasher on October 26, 2023. Al-Atta stated, “They entered people’s houses… they loot and destroy everything: hospitals, electricity, water supply, everything that keeps people alive.”
Despite the horrors being documented, al-Atta lamented the “world’s silence” regarding the RSF’s actions, attributing it to the UAE’s monetary influence over Western governments. He specifically criticized former colonial powers, such as Britain, for failing to acknowledge the plight of the Sudanese, stating, “Every country reflects its own interests.”
The general detailed the staggering toll of the conflict, claiming that over 150,000 Sudanese lives have been lost during the ongoing civil war. He highlighted the RSF’s brutal tactics, noting that the death toll in el-Fasher has now soared to 32,000 civilians, with killings targeting individuals based on ethnicity.
Al-Atta revealed that the RSF, bolstered by mercenaries from countries including Colombia and Ukraine, has perpetrated multiple atrocities across Sudan. He stressed that the UAE’s involvement is not merely economic but part of a strategic plan to achieve ethnic cleansing. “The UAE wants a race decision. The Sudan they see is an Arab land without non-Arabs,” he declared.
As international scrutiny of the RSF escalates, al-Atta emphasized the need for urgent intervention, demanding that the UAE halt its support for the RSF and withdraw all foreign mercenaries from Sudan. He called for an immediate humanitarian response, insisting that arms must be removed from the RSF and that all those guilty of war crimes—both within the RSF and the Sudanese Armed Forces—should face justice.
The ongoing humanitarian crisis in Sudan has reached critical levels, with civilians suffering daily from violence and displacement. As the world watches, Sudanese leaders are calling for accountability and support to restore peace and justice.
In light of these dramatic allegations, it remains to be seen how global powers will respond to the escalating conflict and the humanitarian implications for Sudan’s population, particularly as calls for immediate action grow louder.
