UPDATE: Liverpool’s popular café, Minna, has just been confirmed as a filming location for the new gripping Netflix series Run Away. This sunlit café, known for its vibrant outdoor seating, is gaining fame as the backdrop for a drama starring Ruth Jones and James Nesbitt.
Filming took place across various locations, with significant scenes shot in Liverpool, including Sefton Park, where Jones’ character, private detective Elena Ravenscroft, is seen in a dramatic “dognapping” scene. This thrilling adaptation of a novel by Harlan Coben follows a desperate father, played by Nesbitt, as he searches for his missing teenage daughter.
Minna, located on Lark Lane, has been a brunch haven since its opening in December 2021. The café emphasizes sustainability, serving locally sourced organic produce, and has become a community favorite. Owner Molly named the café after her grandmother, aiming to foster a sense of community.
Jones expressed her excitement, stating, “I loved seeing more of Liverpool… The architecture there is fantastic, and Sefton Park – beautiful.” This endorsement from a well-known actor highlights the café’s appeal and the charm of Liverpool itself.
In addition to Minna, filming took place at Faulkner Square, where Nesbitt was also spotted on set. The production team captured the essence of Liverpool, with Coben noting, “There’s a combination of everyday and eccentric about the settings there.”
As the series gears up for release, Minna’s recognition is set to soar, attracting both locals and tourists eager to experience the café that captured the attention of Netflix producers.
