UPDATE: LOT Polish Airlines has just announced a groundbreaking addition to its transatlantic services, launching non-stop flights from Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW) to San Francisco International Airport (SFO). This new route will begin on May 6, 2026, and will operate four times a week, marking a significant expansion for the Polish flag carrier.
This development is crucial for both business and leisure travelers, connecting the heart of Europe to the global hub for technology and innovation in Northern California. LOT’s Director of Network Department, Robert Ludera, emphasized the strategic importance of transatlantic flights, stating that “800,000 passengers flew on LOT flights between Poland and the US last year.” The new service is poised to open fresh opportunities for travelers seeking connections between these two vibrant regions.
Flights will be scheduled on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The Wednesday and Saturday services will see flight LO37 depart Warsaw at 17:40, returning as LO38 from San Francisco at 22:15. Meanwhile, the Thursday and Sunday rotations will see flight LO35 take off from Warsaw at 11:15, with flight LO36 returning from San Francisco at 15:50.
LOT Polish Airlines has chosen the Boeing 787 Dreamliner as the aircraft for this route, known for its efficiency and passenger comfort. The airline currently operates eight 787-8 and seven 787-9 models, configured in a three-class layout, with business, premium economy, and economy class options. The 787-8 can accommodate 252 passengers, while the larger 787-9 offers seating for 294 passengers.
Tickets for these highly anticipated flights are now available for purchase, and travelers are encouraged to book early due to expected high demand. This new service will make San Francisco LOT’s sixth destination in the United States, following Chicago O’Hare, Los Angeles, Miami, New York JFK, and Newark.
The launch of this route is expected to enhance travel options significantly for both Polish citizens and American travelers, fostering new connections and cultural exchanges. As the travel landscape continues to evolve post-pandemic, this new service underscores LOT Polish Airlines’ commitment to expanding its international presence and meeting the growing demand for transatlantic travel.
Stay tuned for further updates on this developing story and prepare to book your tickets for an exciting journey between Poland and the Silicon Valley.
