URGENT UPDATE: Multiple fatalities have been confirmed following a serious road traffic collision in Co. Louth last night. The tragic incident occurred shortly after 9pm on the Ardee Road in the townland of Gibstown, Dundalk, involving two vehicles.
According to a statement from Gardaí, the deceased remain at the scene, while several injured individuals have been transported to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda. Authorities report that the L3168 road remains closed between the N52 and R171 as a forensic examination is conducted.
“Gardaí are currently at the scene of a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the Ardee Road, Dundalk, Co. Louth last night,” the statement detailed. “A number of fatalities have occurred, and the vehicles and bodies remain at the scene.”
