URGENT UPDATE: The family of Curtis Green, a young dad-to-be tragically shot dead in Sydenham, is urgently appealing for information one year after his unsolved murder. Green was gunned down on November 10, 2024, just after 10 AM on Wells Park Road, and died at the scene, leaving his family devastated.
NO ARRESTS MADE: Despite extensive investigations, no one has been charged in connection with the shooting. Green, aged 30, had reportedly attended a party at Hensford Gardens the night before his death. His family is now calling on the public to help heal their heartache by coming forward with any information.
In a poignant statement released through the Metropolitan Police, Curtis’ family said, “Violence on the streets and young people being murdered is a concern. We appeal to those who know something to be brave and come forward.” They emphasized the emotional toll of losing Curtis, who was expecting a child in early 2025.
COMMUNITY IMPACT: Curtis was an entrepreneur, running a clothing brand and fitness company, and was a beloved member of his community. His family shared, “We miss Curtis every single second of every single day. Popularity should not come before accountability.”
POLICE APPEAL: Detective Chief Inspector Samantha Townsend, leading the investigation, emphasized that even the smallest detail could be crucial. “If you come forward, we will support you and try our best to ensure that we can protect your identity,” she stated.
In addition to the ongoing investigation, Crimestoppers is offering a £20,000 reward for information leading to a conviction. The offer is valid for three months, expiring on February 10, 2026. Anonymous reports can be made via 0800 555 111 or through their website.
ADDITIONAL VICTIMS: Two others were also shot during the incident: a 27-year-old man who sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries, and a 27-year-old woman who faced a long recovery after being shot in the legs. Police initially arrested two suspects but later released them on bail pending further inquiries.
WHAT’S NEXT: Authorities are urging anyone who was in the area around the time of the shooting to contact 101, quoting Operation Bansara or CAD 2527/10NOV24. The community’s support is crucial for delivering justice for Curtis Green and preventing further violence.
