Traffic in Montenegro is currently operating under dry conditions with good visibility. Authorities recommend cautious driving and adherence to traffic regulations, as stated by the Auto Moto Savez Crne Gore (AMSCG).
Road Closures and Traffic Changes
On the regional road R-10, traffic is halted entirely at the Sokolovina area due to rockslides related to the ongoing stabilization of the critical point. This closure affects all vehicle types and is expected to remain in place until further notice.
Additionally, until November 30, 2023, traffic will shift from two-way to alternating flow along various construction sites on the M-2 highway. This includes temporary total stoppages not exceeding 30 minutes due to reconstruction work on segments Lepenac-Ribarevina, Ribarevina-Poda, and Poda-Berane.
The reconstruction of the regional road R-29 Bar-Kamenički most-Krute is also underway, leading to complete road closures for all vehicle types from 08:00 to 11:00 and from 13:00 to 16:00.
Traffic alterations are authorized for the Petnjica-Bioča road, allowing a shift from two-way to alternating traffic flow at work sites, along with occasional total stoppages not exceeding 60 minutes. However, these stoppages cannot occur during weekdays from 07:00 to 09:00 and 12:00 to 14:00.
From now until November 22, 2023, traffic will also change to alternating flow due to bridge repairs on the M-1 highway segment from Bar to Ulcinj.
Construction Projects and Traffic Management
On the M-3 highway section Plužine-Jasenovo Polje, traffic is regulated to one lane at various construction points with light traffic signals in use.
In Podgorica, work on a boulevard has resulted in traffic being redirected via alternative routes, as signposted.
Further changes are scheduled from November 17 to 22, 2023, with alternating traffic flow from 08:00 to 17:00 on the M-2 highway at Petrovac-Podgorica during asphalt overlay work.
On the nights of November 13 and November 16, 2023, traffic will experience intermittent closures on the routes from Luka Bar to Sutomore and beyond, due to the transport of components for the Gvozd wind farm.
Traffic management will also be altered due to the filming of the feature film “Battle of the Motors.” Total traffic stoppages are planned on the regional road R-23 on November 15 and 16, 2025, and periodic closures are expected on several other routes throughout that week.
