Jevrosima Pejović, the president of the Special Parliamentary Club, has publicly criticized members of the ruling parliamentary majority for allegedly cancelling important meetings in Brussels to go shopping. During an appearance on A plus TV‘s program “Minula neđelja,” Pejović claimed that her recent visits to the United States resulted in higher-level meetings than those experienced by Andrija Mandić, the President of the Assembly.
Pejović expressed disappointment regarding the level of respect shown to Mandić within the international community. She noted that, based on the number of meetings held and their significance during her visits to the United States, it seems inappropriate for someone in Mandić’s position. “Every time I visited the US, I had many more meetings with congress members, both from the Republican and Democratic parties. If I can do it without a political party, I expect the same from him,” she stated.
The parliament member emphasized that it is irresponsible for officials to neglect important diplomatic opportunities. She highlighted the need for representatives to focus on the interests of the nation rather than personal pursuits. “It’s crucial for citizens to know who truly contributes to Montenegro’s European path,” she said, urging the public to hold their representatives accountable.
Pejović further criticized her colleagues for prioritizing shopping over legislative responsibilities. “Some colleagues from the ruling majority have cancelled meetings in Brussels to go shopping. It is important for citizens to remember this, as these same representatives will seek their support in the future,” she remarked.
Her statements underscore a growing concern among some politicians about the commitment of elected officials to their duties. By calling attention to these issues, Pejović aims to encourage a more responsible approach to governance and international representation for Montenegro.
