The Montenegro Water Polo Championship in the C category (for players born in 2012) concluded in Podgorica, with Budva BR emerging as the champions for the 2025/26 season. The tournament, organized by the Water Polo and Swimming Federation of Montenegro, showcased the skills of seven clubs over three days of intense competition, culminating in 15 matches.
Budva BR secured their championship title after a strong performance throughout the tournament. In the semifinal, they overcame Mladost with a score of 10:7. The final match saw Budva BR face Buducnost One, where they triumphed decisively with a score of 16:10. This victory marks a significant achievement for Budva BR, reinforcing their status in the national water polo landscape.
The bronze medal was awarded to Mladost from Bijela, who clinched third place by defeating Primorac 7:5 in the bronze medal match. The final standings of the tournament are as follows: 1. Budva BR, 2. Buducnost One, 3. Mladost, 4. Primorac, 5. Aquatic Verde, 6. Jadran M:TEL, and 7. Niksic.
Medals were presented to the top teams by Andrija Đurašković from the Water Polo and Swimming Federation of Montenegro and Darko Nikčević, Secretary of the Sports Secretariat of Podgorica. Nikčević also handed over the championship trophy to the victorious Budva BR team, celebrating their remarkable performance throughout the tournament.
The event not only highlighted the competitive spirit of the participating teams but also emphasized the growing popularity of water polo in Montenegro. As more young athletes engage in the sport, the future of water polo in the country looks promising.
