Urgent Update: Stabbings on Huntingdon Train Leave 10 Injured

UPDATE: A shocking stabbing incident aboard a train traveling to London King’s Cross has left 10 people injured as investigations ramp up. British Transport Police confirm that two men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following the horror that unfolded at Huntingdon Station on November 1, 2023.

The attack occurred around 7:42 PM as the train departed Doncaster at 6:25 PM. Emergency services rushed to the scene after passengers made frantic 999 calls reporting multiple stabbings. Eyewitnesses described a scene of chaos, with one passenger stating, “There was blood everywhere,” and others hiding in toilets to escape the rampage.

Officials have confirmed that two men remain in custody, ages 32 and 35, both UK nationals. Initial reports indicate that nine of the injured were believed to have life-threatening injuries; however, four have since been discharged from the hospital. Tragically, two victims are still in a life-threatening condition, according to police updates.

“We declared a major incident and counter-terrorism policing initially supported our investigation,” said Superintendent John Loveless of British Transport Police. “However, at this stage, there is nothing to suggest this is a terrorist incident.”

Authorities are working diligently to uncover the full circumstances surrounding the attack. Superintendent Loveless emphasized that speculation regarding the motivations behind the incident is premature.

Travel disruptions are expected to continue on LNER services between London King’s Cross and Lincoln, Doncaster, Leeds, Bradford Forster Square, and Harrogate until Monday.
