Severn Hospice Christmas Fayre Thrills with £5,000 Raffle Prize

BREAKING: The highly anticipated Severn Hospice Christmas Fayre kicked off today, attracting eager visitors to its Bicton Heath location in Shrewsbury. Running from 10 AM to 4 PM on both Saturday and Sunday, this festive event features over 20 stalls offering unique crafts, seasonal treats, and perfect Christmas gifts.

Guests are treated to live music throughout the weekend, including performances by The Ronnies, who specialize in 1940s music, alongside the talented Severn Harmony Choir. Excitement is palpable as attendees indulge in festive refreshments and children eagerly greet Father Christmas in his grotto, where he hands out early gifts each day.

Among the highlights are handmade crafts, such as Christmas-themed cushions created by local artisans. One of the hospice gardeners, Nicky Worthing, shared, “Lots of very talented and clever ladies and gentlemen from all around have brought them in for us to sell at the fayre.” The cushions come in various designs, catering to diverse needs, including those made for dementia patients and babies.

In addition to the festive atmosphere, attention is mounting for the Severn Hospice festive raffle, which aims to raise crucial funds for the hospice’s vital work. One lucky winner will take home a generous £5,000 jackpot, with a total of 43 cash prizes up for grabs. Winners will be announced on December 19, 2023.

The hospice plays a critical role in the community, spending over £26,000 each day to provide compassionate care to local families. Last year alone, nearly 3,000 families living with incurable illnesses benefited from the specialized services that Severn Hospice is renowned for.
