BREAKING: A North Wales policewoman, PC Pamela Pritchard, is facing serious allegations of sexual misconduct during a boozy leaving party at Caernarfon rugby club in March 2022. The misconduct hearing is taking place in Colwyn Bay, where Pritchard has denied being intoxicated and claims she has “no recollection” of the events that transpired.
During the hearing, Pritchard expressed her fears that the allegations could label her as a “sexual predator.” She recalled that “everything is quite a blur” and admitted to only remembering snippets from that night. The panel heard testimony from a colleague, PC A, who alleged that Pritchard approached her from behind on the dancefloor, putting her arms under her armpits and squeezing her breasts.
In an emotional response, Pritchard stated, “I would never sexually assault anyone. I didn’t sexually assault her. I am not a lesbian.” She further described her anxiety following the incident, saying, “I really, really struggled… I felt like people thought I was a sexual predator.”
The allegations have escalated, with further claims suggesting Pritchard had also groped another male officer, PC B. Under questioning from Jonathan Landau, counsel for the police complaints authority, Pritchard denied all accusations, stating, “I completely deny sexually assaulting him. Any contact between me and PC B looks to be consensual.”
Pritchard’s lawyer, Fiona Clancy, asserted at the start of the hearing that her client would deny any claims of gross misconduct or intentional sexual contact. Pritchard also referenced her previous roles as a healthcare assistant and prison officer, emphasizing her dedication to serving the community and her distress over the allegations.
The hearing continues as Pritchard maintains her innocence, stressing, “I am absolutely mortified by the allegations. It’s not who I am.”
As details unfold, the outcome of this misconduct hearing could have significant implications for Pritchard’s career and reputation. This developing story highlights critical issues within police conduct and accountability, prompting discussions around workplace behavior and the repercussions of alcohol-fueled incidents.
