Police Smash Down Doors in Gwynedd for Urgent Drug Raids

UPDATE: Police have launched a significant double drug raid in Gwynedd, executing urgent operations in both Pwllheli and Tremadog earlier today. Equipped with Enforcer battering rams, officers from North Wales Police (NWP) targeted properties believed to be linked to controlled substances, marking a decisive action in the fight against drug misuse.

At approximately 8:00 AM on December 17, officers stormed a residence on Ffordd Mela in Pwllheli. Led by Police Sergeant Williams, the team executed a Section 23 Misuse of Drugs Warrant, uncovering a quantity of controlled substances. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are delving deeper into the findings.

Later that evening, around 7:00 PM, another team moved swiftly to a property in Isgraig, Tremadog. Under the same warrant, Police Sergeant Atkinson and his colleagues did not locate the occupant but seized several items associated with drug misuse. These items will undergo further analysis as part of the investigation.

Inspector Iwan Jones of the NWP Gwynedd South policing team expressed gratitude to the community for their assistance in providing crucial information that led to these operations. He stated,

“Together, we can prevent the harm that controlled substances cause, and I encourage all that live and work in the community to report suspicious behaviour.”

The raids underscore North Wales Police’s commitment to tackling the use and supply of controlled drugs, which pose significant risks to public health and safety. Controlled substances include a mix of legal prescription medications and illegal drugs, both of which are heavily regulated due to their potential for addiction and harm.

Authorities are urging anyone with relevant information regarding drug activity to report it via 101, Crimestoppers, or through the police’s online reporting service. The community’s vigilance is essential in combating drug-related issues, and officers are dedicated to maintaining safety in the region.
