Montenegro’s Raičević and Roganović Reach European Boxing Semis

UPDATE: Montenegro’s boxing stars Nikola Raičević and Matija Roganović have just secured their spots in the semifinals of the European Junior Boxing Championship in Germany, guaranteeing at least bronze medals for their country. This remarkable achievement comes after both boxers triumphed in their quarterfinal matches today.

In the 50 kg category, Raičević faced off against Greece’s Dimostenis Zikos, winning decisively with a judges’ decision of 4:1. Although Zikos led in the first round with a score of 3:2, Raičević showcased incredible resilience and skill in the following rounds, demonstrating a powerful combination of discipline and technique. He will now compete against Turkey’s Berat Ahduman in the semifinals.

Roganović delivered an even more dominant performance in the 80 kg category, overpowering Israel’s Georg Asaf, the European schoolboys’ vice champion. The fight was marked by a knockout moment, leading to Roganović’s victory with a maximum score, a testament to his prowess in the ring. His next opponent will be Ukraine’s Dmitro Kasianenko, who advanced by eliminating Latvia’s Vladislavs Ustinovs.
