UPDATE: New data confirms that Montenegro remains one of the most affordable camping destinations in Europe for 2023. An analysis by the international portal Camping.info reveals that the average nightly cost for two people, including a pitch, vehicle, electricity, and fees, is just €15.58.
This announcement from the Camping Association of Montenegro (KACG) highlights the country’s competitive pricing compared to other regional destinations. “With the growing demand for camping across Europe, especially along the Adriatic, this data positions Montenegro favorably in the market,” KACG officials stated.
Montenegro’s prices are significantly lower than those in countries with well-developed camping infrastructures, such as Croatia and Slovenia. For example, Croatia is noted as one of the priciest options in Europe, while Slovenia also showcases high average costs. “The price difference is a major factor attracting campers to Montenegro, particularly those traveling the entire Adriatic route,” KACG emphasized.
While Albania and North Macedonia offer lower prices, their limited camping options and uneven infrastructure make Montenegro a more appealing choice for many travelers. Campers value the better price-to-quality ratio, consistent offerings, and broader availability of camping facilities in Montenegro. Surprisingly, even Bosnia and Herzegovina, along with Serbia, are reported to have higher average prices than Montenegro, reinforcing the nation’s competitive edge.
KACG officials stress that campers do not solely spend on accommodations. On average, they allocate substantial portions of their budget to local products, restaurants, excursions, and activities during their stay. This dynamic contributes to a robust economic impact on local communities and helps extend the tourism season beyond peak months.
The association urges that analyses like these underline the importance of enhancing Montenegro’s visibility in the European camping market. This year, the country will be showcased at the CMT fair in Stuttgart, Europe’s largest event dedicated to camping, caravanning, and travel. At such specialized fairs, where attendees predominantly hail from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and the Netherlands, Montenegro’s blend of affordability and stunning natural advantages stands out.
As camping tourism continues to surge in Europe, Montenegro is poised to solidify its position with its attractive pricing, unique natural landscapes, and increasingly modern camping offerings.
Stay tuned for further updates as Montenegro aims to capture the hearts of campers this season!
