URGENT UPDATE: The Gwen Mayor Trust has just announced funding for 18 critical school projects across Scotland, honoring the memory of Gwen Mayor, a teacher tragically killed in the Dunblane shooting on March 13, 1996. This funding aims to enhance arts, sports, culture, and community initiatives for young students.
Among the projects receiving support is the Baby Strings initiative at Thorntree Primary School in Glasgow, which will replace musical instruments to enable continued learning. Additionally, Christ the King Primary School in North Lanarkshire will develop its outdoor environment thanks to this funding.
The impact of this initiative extends to Airlie Primary School in Kirriemuir, where a sewing, knitting, and clothing creation program will thrive with the help of the Trust. Moreover, a Glee Club at Fernielea School in Aberdeen and a crafts and STEM materials box at Kirkudbright Primary School are among the projects benefiting from this timely support.
Preston Tower Primary School in Prestonpans has also received funds to procure essential equipment and waterproof clothing, ensuring their outdoor program can operate seamlessly.
