Dobbies’ Christmas Shopping Night Aims to Raise £40,000 for Alzheimer’s

UPDATE: Dobbies’ Christmas Shopping Night is set for December 7, 2023, at the Gailey store, with the goal of raising £40,000 for Alzheimer’s Research UK. Tickets are priced at £1, £2.50, and £5, adopting a pay-what-you-can model, ensuring that every penny goes toward vital dementia research.

This festive event promises to be a lively occasion, featuring a welcome glass of prosecco or a soft drink for attendees. Guests will have the chance to visit Santa in his North Pole-themed Grotto and enjoy performances from local community groups. There will also be in-store demonstrations and tastings from the food hall and Bakery to Go, ensuring a delightful shopping experience.

Dobbies is not only about the holiday spirit; it also aims to support critical research into dementia. This partnership with Alzheimer’s Research UK has already raised over £40,000 since its inception in March, focusing on the important link between garden living and brain health.

Ayesha Nickson, Dobbies’ Events Programme Manager, expressed her excitement: “Christmas Shopping Night is a great opportunity for friends and family to come together. This event is a staple in our seasonal calendar and a chance to support Alzheimer’s Research UK.”

In addition to the shopping festivities, local schools and nurseries that participated in Dobbies’ Community Christmas Tree campaign will receive free real Christmas trees during the event.

Paul Glazier, Head of Corporate Partnerships at Alzheimer’s Research UK, emphasized the importance of community support: “With almost one million people currently living with dementia in the UK, it is vital that we come together and end the heartbreak of this condition. Thank you, Dobbies, for standing with us for a cure.”

Tickets for this urgent fundraising initiative are available online at dobbies.com and in-store on the night. Don’t miss the chance to support a worthy cause while celebrating the festive season!
