BermudAir Cuts Flights to Richmond and Raleigh/Durham Now

BREAKING: BermudAir has just announced the termination of flights to Richmond and Raleigh/Durham, effective January 2026. This move marks a significant shift as the airline continues to adjust its route network, which has seen multiple recent changes.

The airline, which launched operations in September 2023, has primarily focused on secondary airports but is now pivoting towards more strategic, high-demand markets. The Richmond route, which started just last June, operated twice-weekly and has now left the city without any international connections for the first time since the mid-2010s.

Officials from BermudAir have confirmed that this decision follows the recent discontinuation of other routes, including services to Fort Lauderdale and Rhode Island. The airline initially provided robust service options, but as of late, many routes have seen significant reductions in frequency, leading to withdrawal.

UPDATE: In addition to the cuts, BermudAir has launched a new subsidiary brand, AnguillAir, which will begin operations in December. This new venture aims to enhance connectivity from Anguilla to major U.S. cities including Boston, Baltimore, and Newark. The introduction of AnguillAir represents a key expansion for the airline, which previously relied heavily on connecting flights through Puerto Rico.

BermudAir’s founder and CEO, Adam Scott, has indicated that despite the current route adjustments, the airline has broader ambitions, potentially eyeing expansion into European markets. However, the viability of these plans is contingent on the airline’s financial health, as it faces substantial debts owed to the operator of L.F. Wade International Airport.

The airline has scheduled over 2,800 flights this year, with a focus on key U.S. destinations. In light of these changes, travelers and stakeholders are urged to stay informed on the latest developments regarding flight availability and future expansions.

As BermudAir navigates these turbulent waters, its strategic shift may redefine its operations and impact travel options for many. For now, the discontinuation of flights to Richmond and Raleigh/Durham serves as a stark reminder of the challenges facing new airlines in a competitive market. Stay tuned for further updates as this story develops.
