Fire at Roki Pistolato Warehouse Extinguished in Podgorica

A fire at the Roki Pistolato warehouse in Podgorica has been successfully extinguished, according to Nikola Bojanović, the commander of the Fire Protection and Rescue Service of the capital. The fire service received the alarm about the blaze around 14:00 on December 4, 2023.

Initial reports indicated that extinguishing the fire posed significant challenges due to the warehouse being filled with a large quantity of flammable materials, including plastics and holiday decorations. Bojanović noted, “The fire was difficult to control because the warehouse is full.”

Firefighters deployed six fire trucks and a team of 15 personnel to tackle the situation. During the intervention, one firefighter suffered minor injuries, but no serious casualties were reported. Assistance also arrived from the Cetinje firefighters, who supported their Podgorica counterparts in managing the incident.

Authorities are currently monitoring the site to ensure that no embers remain that could reignite the fire. The successful response has been attributed to the quick action of the fire service and the coordination between the two teams. Residents in the vicinity reported seeing smoke but were assured that the situation is under control.

As investigations into the cause of the fire begin, officials will assess the damage to the warehouse and the potential impacts on the business operations of Roki Pistolato. Further updates are expected as the Fire Protection and Rescue Service continues to evaluate the scene.
