Supporters of the England national football team are preparing to pay nearly £200 for tickets to the opening match of the World Cup, which will be held in Dallas. The Football Association is expected to announce official pricing details later today, but the Croatian Football Federation has already released its ticket prices for its allocation.
For the England match scheduled on June 17, 2024, the Croatian federation has made available 2,010 tickets in the Category 3 or value tier at a price of $265, equivalent to approximately £198. It is anticipated that England fans purchasing through the England Supporters Travel Club (ESTC) will face similar pricing.
In addition to the lower-tier tickets, the Croatian federation has set the cost for standard tier tickets at $500 (£373) and premier tickets at $700 (£523). The total allocation for the Croatian PMA (Participant Member Association) stands at 4,022 tickets, with fixed prices that will not fluctuate due to dynamic pricing strategies.
Despite the prices not being subject to adjustments, the starting cost of nearly £200 may still be deemed steep by fans. Anticipation surrounding ticket sales is building as FIFA prepares to open a random selection draw at 16:00 UK time today.
Fans will have the opportunity to purchase tickets online until January 13, 2024. During this period, individuals can order as many tickets as they wish, although the specific prices for these tickets are yet to be confirmed by FIFA. After the sales window closes, fans will find out how many tickets they have secured, with their credit cards charged accordingly.
As the World Cup approaches, the excitement among fans continues to rise, despite the financial commitment required to secure a spot at this highly anticipated event.
