Caitlin Clark Unveils Signature Shoe on Kelces’ Podcast

Caitlin Clark, star player for the Indiana Fever, announced her upcoming signature sneaker during an appearance on the “New Heights” podcast with NFL players Jason and Travis Kelce. The shoe is set to launch in spring 2024, marking a significant milestone for the athlete.

Clark shared insights into the creative process behind her shoe, which began during her senior season at the University of Iowa in 2024. She expressed her excitement, stating, “It’s been one of the coolest things I’ve gotten to do.” The athlete emphasized the importance of balancing uniqueness with comfort, noting that while the shoe’s technology is crucial, she is particularly enthusiastic about designing various colorways. Among these, she mentioned a special colorway inspired by the Kansas City Chiefs, her favorite NFL team. Clark playfully suggested the possibility of Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid wearing the shoes during games.

The podcast episode also highlighted Clark’s recent Nike advertisement featuring the tagline “From Anywhere,” which includes appearances by the Kelce brothers. This campaign is part of the promotional efforts leading up to her shoe launch.

Returning to the Court

In addition to discussing her shoe, Clark reflected on her participation in the USA Basketball camp held at Duke University from December 12 to 14, 2023. After facing injuries that limited her to just 13 games in the previous WNBA season, she expressed gratitude for the opportunity to train with many of the world’s top players. “It kind of kicks off the next cycle, preparing for the Olympics,” Clark noted, highlighting her aspirations for the upcoming 2026 World Cup and the 2028 Olympic Games.

While the podcast did not delve into the ongoing collective bargaining agreement negotiations between the WNBA and the players’ association, the conversation turned to football, with Clark sharing her thoughts on the NFL playoffs. She humorously remarked that her primary goal in fantasy football was not to finish last in her league. With the Chiefs missing the playoffs, Clark indicated she didn’t have a specific favorite team this postseason, adding, “I’m a Drake Maye fan; I think he’s been incredible,” referring to the quarterback for the New England Patriots. She also acknowledged the strength of the Los Angeles Rams in the current season.

As Caitlin Clark continues to make waves in both basketball and beyond, her signature sneaker’s debut promises to be an exciting development for her growing fanbase.
