A 13-year-old cat named Shiva is currently seeking a new family at All Creatures Great and Small. She arrived at the shelter on February 6, 2026, after her previous owners were compelled to relocate to a pet-free property. This affectionate yet independent Domestic Short Hair has a unique personality that may suit the right household.
Shiva prefers solitude and is not fond of other cats, often displaying a growling disposition when encountering them. Her previous family indicated that she has never lived with dogs, suggesting she is unsuitable for households with canine companions. While she can coexist with teenagers, it is advisable that she be placed in an environment without young children due to her occasionally “spicy” demeanour.
Health-wise, Shiva has undergone a complete veterinary examination and is reported to be in excellent condition. Although she is currently not vaccinated, she was spayed by the kennel staff upon her entry into their care in 2015. Importantly, she is not suited for a strictly indoor lifestyle, as she has always enjoyed the freedom of accessing the outdoors through a cat flap in her previous home.
Shiva’s Personality and Preferences
The dedicated staff at All Creatures describe Shiva as a cat bursting with personality who actively seeks affection and companionship from humans. She enjoys spending quality time with her caregivers and will approach them for attention, though she does not appreciate excessive handling. Shiva has a discerning palate, favouring gourmet meals that reflect her “pampered princess” nature.
To ensure a seamless transition into her new home, it is recommended that Shiva be given a stable environment as an only pet. With ample love and attention, staff members believe that she will quickly adapt and flourish in her new surroundings.
If you are interested in providing Shiva the forever home she truly deserves, please reach out to All Creatures Great and Small for further information. This affectionate feline is ready to bring joy and companionship to the right family.
