Scottish Highlands Hotels Launch Traitors-Inspired Getaways for 2026

A group of hotels in the Scottish Highlands has announced the introduction of new getaways inspired by the hit series The Traitors. These unique breaks will commence in May 2026 and will highlight the breathtaking landscapes and historic castles of the Northern Highlands. Guests can explore the region’s natural beauty and cultural heritage while enjoying curated experiences in some of the area’s most renowned accommodations.

Located near Inverness, Ardross Castle serves as the filming site for the popular BBC show and is known as the gateway to the North Highlands and the starting point of the famous North Coast 500 route. Unlike Ardross Castle, the participating hotels are open to visitors year-round and offer a chance to experience the magic of the Highlands through an immersive package.

Highland Coast Hotels aims to provide travelers with an opportunity to discover a variety of historic castles and stunning lochs along the North Coast 500. The four-night itinerary includes two nights at the Royal Marine Hotel in Brora and two nights at the Tongue Hotel in Sutherland, the latter featuring picturesque views of Castle Varrich.

The package also includes entry to prominent sites such as Dunrobin Castle, recognized as the “Jewel in the Crown of the Highlands.” This castle, Scotland’s northernmost great house, boasts a history dating back to the early 1300s and overlooks the Dornoch Firth. Guests will also visit the Castle of Mey, the former residence of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, which now stands as a five-star visitor attraction complete with a visitor center and luxury accommodations.

The entire adventure can be organized through a single booking system managed by Highland Coast Hotels, which allows guests to arrange overnight stays, dining options, and additional experiences such as whisky tastings at some of Scotland’s oldest distilleries.

The Traitors-inspired breaks will be available from May to September 2026, with prices starting from £149 per person per night. This rate is based on double occupancy in a standard room on a bed-and-breakfast basis and includes two nights at each hotel.

The Royal Marine Hotel features 21 en-suite rooms that blend period charm with modern amenities. Its restaurant focuses on contemporary Scottish cuisine, utilizing seasonal local produce. On Booking.com, the hotel has an impressive rating of 8.6 out of 10, with guests praising its “great atmosphere” and “amazing food,” although some have noted that the building can feel rather spacious.

Meanwhile, the Tongue Hotel is housed in a historic Victorian sporting lodge, offering rooms adorned with period features such as wood paneling and open fires. The hotel’s dining options include a diverse selection of whiskies and wines, and its Booking.com score also stands at 8.6. Guests have described the hotel as “clean and comfortable,” though there have been comments regarding the perceived value of the menu offerings.
