Fans React to ‘Easiest Final Question Yet’ on The 1% Club Rollover

The new spin-off series of the popular quiz show, The 1% Club, titled The 1% Club Rollover, launched on December 8, 2023, and has already sparked heated discussions among viewers. The show, hosted by comedian Lee Mack, features a five-day prime-time special format that allows unclaimed prize money to accumulate, potentially reaching £500,000 by the final episode.

The gameplay remains consistent with the original series, but with a key twist: contestants who reach the coveted 1% question can automatically return for the next episode, giving them another chance at the jackpot. Despite the excitement, Monday’s broadcast saw a significant drop in participant numbers, with only 15 contestants remaining after the 35% question. Mack remarked on this surprising trend, noting, “We’ve only got 15 people left in the game and only five passes, which is very low at this stage.”

Viewers expressed mixed reactions to the difficulty of the questions. Many took to X (formerly Twitter) to voice their frustration, with comments such as, “I can’t believe the amount of people out already,” and “They’re dropping like flies.” Some felt that the questions were too easy, leading to unexpected eliminations. One user commented, “Is it just me or is everyone on #1PercentRollover below average? Because why have so many people gone out already?”

Conversely, a few viewers suggested the questions were more challenging than usual. One spectator remarked, “This is so much harder. It’s like they’re purposely making it roll over to £500,000, because what’s the point of the show otherwise?”

Only one contestant, Chris, reached the 1% question during the episode and chose to take home his £10,000 prize, allowing him to return for another chance at the rollover jackpot. Following the 1% question, several viewers expressed their belief that it was the easiest question of the night, with one stating, “That 1% question was too easy! Got it straight away!”

The 1% Club Rollover will continue to air daily at 21:00 on ITV1 and ITVX, promising more excitement and perhaps even more contentious questions as the week progresses. As audiences remain engaged, the show’s fate rests on the balance of challenging gameplay against viewer expectations.
