The 57th Mimosa Festival in Herceg Novi concluded with a vibrant mask ball that attracted over 200 participants. The event showcased creativity and humor through various masks, with the audience and judges recognizing “Chat GPT” as the top group mask and “Ko će gledat ove jade” winning in the individual category.
According to the Herceg Novi Municipality, the second-place group mask was “Kip off,” while “Viz er” secured third place. In the individual category, “Cvjetaj mimozo mala” took second place, and “Grdana” finished third. The judges echoed public sentiment, awarding “Chat GPT” first place, followed by “Viz er” and “FK Gondola.” In addition to cash prizes for the top three winners, 12 other masks received merchandise awards from sponsors of the festival.
The entertainment was lively, featuring performances from local acts such as the Exodusi ensemble, the Toć dance group, and the popular pop-rock band Zana. The band’s frontman, Zoran Živanović (known as Žika), expressed a deep emotional connection to Herceg Novi, stating, “This city is where my youth and life began.” He noted that although he had performed in the area before, this marked a significant return for the band.
The Mimosa Festival attracted thousands of visitors over its two-day span, emphasizing its importance in promoting Herceg Novi as a desirable winter tourist destination. Darija Banićević, director of the Herceg Novi Tourism Organization, commented on the success of the event, stating, “The initial impressions are fantastic, and the organization is at a high level.” She highlighted the satisfaction of local hospitality providers and expressed optimism about official visitor statistics to be released later in the week.
