Another notable mention is Our Lady of Compassion Catholic Primary School, which achieved “Good” across various categories in its report on April 2, 2025. The school fosters a nurturing environment where children thrive and develop respectful relationships with their peers and staff.

Conversely, Netherton Moss Primary School requires improvement in its leadership and management as of the report on April 29, 2025. Inspectors noted that while pupils enjoy being part of the school community, there is room for enhancing the overall effectiveness of the institution.

Secondary Schools and Further Education Insights

The secondary schools in the area also received scrutiny. The Motiv8 School underwent a pre-registration inspection on April 1, 2025, and was found to have a suitable curriculum policy. Inspectors observed that leaders clearly outlined educational objectives, ensuring that students were well-prepared.

In contrast, Stanley High School received a “Requires Improvement” rating in its report published on June 24, 2025. While students expressed a sense of belonging, the inspectors noted that there are significant areas that need enhancement, particularly in leadership and management.

On a more positive note, Hugh Baird College emerged as a leader in further education with an “Outstanding” rating in all inspected categories. In a contrasting report, Educ8 Liverpool faced challenges as it received an “Inadequate” rating during a monitoring visit on November 19, 2025. The inspection revealed that the school did not meet several independent standards.
