Katie Miller Faces Online Backlash for Grammar Error on Education Post

Katie Miller, a podcaster and wife of White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, has become the subject of ridicule on social media due to a grammatical error in a post concerning women’s education. The incident occurred on October 6, 2023, when Miller shared her thoughts on the “biological function” of women in an X post.

In her post, Miller wrote, “As countries get richer, women become more education and have increased career opportunities,” instead of the correct phrase “more educated.” The error quickly drew attention from users online, who highlighted the mistake. Miller, a graduate of the University of Florida and holder of a master’s degree in public administration from George Washington University, continued her post by referencing a chart from the Financial Times that illustrated lower fertility rates in wealthier nations. She stated, “As birth control becomes more available, fertility drastically decreases. Too many women take birth control and ignore basic biology — our core biological function is procreation.”

Responses to her post were swift and scathing. One user on X commented, “Aren’t you a college graduate? ‘Women become more education….’ You could use AI to proofread for you.” Another remarked, “‘Women become more education’ ???? This obviously doesn’t apply to you.” A third user questioned, “What the actual f*** is she talking about? Seems someone needs an education before lecturing others.”

Miller, who is currently pregnant and has three children, frequently shares conservative views on social media, advocating for policies that align with the MAGA movement. Her recent comments about women’s roles echo sentiments expressed by billionaire Elon Musk, who has frequently warned about declining birth rates and their implications for society.

Miller has a history of working closely with Musk, having served as a spokeswoman for the now-defunct Department of Government Efficiency during the early days of President Donald Trump’s second term. On October 5, 2023, she appeared on a segment of Fox Business with Larry Kudlow, where she agreed with his assertion that Musk “seems to have the only AI that’s not woke. It’s realistic.”

However, Musk’s own AI chatbot, Grok AI, has attracted controversy this year, facing backlash for generating inappropriate content, including sexually explicit images and pro-Adolf Hitler messages. This has intensified scrutiny surrounding the figures Miller aligns with online.

As the online backlash continues, the impacts of such public missteps on the credibility of public figures remain a topic of discussion. The Independent has reached out to Miller for comment through her official website but has not yet received a response.
