Samuel Chukwueze Eyes Permanent Move to Fulham After Strong Performances

Samuel Chukwueze has expressed his desire to make his loan at Fulham a permanent arrangement this summer. The Nigerian winger demonstrated his potential during a thrilling match against Manchester City, where he scored two goals, contributing to a dramatic comeback attempt that ultimately saw Fulham lose 5-4. This performance follows his earlier assist for Raul Jimenez, who scored the winner against Sunderland on November 22, 2023, marking a significant turning point in his integration into English football.

Chukwueze’s Growing Influence

Currently on loan from AC Milan until the end of the season, Chukwueze joined Fulham on transfer deadline day in the summer. Since then, he has been working to catch up after missing a month of action. His influence on the pitch is increasing, and he is keen to extend his stay beyond the temporary deal, which expires in May 2024. Fulham’s head coach, Marco Silva, has praised Chukwueze’s impact on the team but emphasized the need for him to maintain his work ethic to secure a long-term contract.

“I am very happy with him. He had a good impact on the game and I’m very pleased for him,” Silva stated. “I would have preferred to have had Chukwueze earlier in pre-season.”

Transfer Fees and Future Prospects

AC Milan is open to selling Chukwueze but is likely to demand a fee of around £20 million. Silva has previously criticized Fulham’s transfer department for not being proactive enough during the last transfer window. In addition to Chukwueze, the team acquired reserve goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte and made a club-record signing of £34 million for another winger, Kevin.

Despite the loss to Manchester City, Chukwueze’s performance has resonated with Fulham supporters, further fueling his determination to succeed in the English Premier League. His recent displays have been pivotal as the team seeks to build momentum following consecutive league victories before facing City.

Fulham is preparing to host Cristal Palace this Sunday, and Chukwueze is eager to secure more first-team opportunities. He also contributed an assist to Ryan Sessegnon during Fulham’s 3-1 defeat at Bournemouth in October, showcasing his ability to make an impact in crucial moments.

Chukwueze began his professional career in Spain with Villarreal before moving to Italy and signing with AC Milan in 2023. With his current form and commitment, he looks set to make a significant mark in the Premier League, not only during his loan spell but potentially beyond.
