Exeter Cathedral to Host Urgent Christmas Carol Concerts

UPDATE: Exeter Cathedral is set to resonate with festive cheer as the Exeter Philharmonic Choir prepares for two much-anticipated carol concerts on December 16 and December 17, both starting at 7:30 PM. This beloved holiday tradition promises to uplift spirits with a blend of classic Christmas favorites and vibrant brass performances.

The concerts will feature renowned trumpeters Cameron Todd and Ross Brown, alongside solo soprano Katie Trethewey and organist Stephen Tanner. Attendees can expect an immersive experience, as they’ll join the choir in singing traditional carols, enhanced by what the choir describes as its “customary star dust” of festive harmonies.

This year’s performances coincide with the popular Christmas Market on Cathedral Green, making it the perfect kickoff for the festive season. Tickets are priced at £23, £17, and £13, available for purchase online or by calling 0333 666 3366.

In a heartwarming twist, the concerts will support the Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF). Attendees will have the opportunity to contribute to this vital cause through retiring collections on both nights. ELF’s Chief Executive Molly Southwood will be present as a guest speaker, offering insights into the organization’s invaluable support for haematology patients, their families, and the dedicated NHS teams caring for those battling leukaemia.

This urgent announcement invites everyone to join in the spirit of giving and celebration, making the Exeter Cathedral concerts a must-see event this holiday season. Don’t miss your chance to be part of this enchanting experience that combines music, community, and compassion.
