BREAKING: NE Youth, a prominent North East charity, is celebrating its 90th anniversary by recognizing remarkable young individuals at the 2025 Impact Awards held at The Grand Hotel, Gosforth Park last night. This milestone event highlighted the inspiring achievements of local youth, with over one million beneficiaries from NE Youth’s initiatives over the past nine decades.
The ceremony, attended by nearly 400 guests, including young people, volunteers, and supporters, showcased the incredible contributions made by the nominees and winners. The competition was fierce, but the judges ultimately selected outstanding honorees who have made significant impacts in their communities.
Jannah Rahman Rehman clinched the coveted Volunteer of the Year award for her dedication to Projects4Change, a program empowering youth-led initiatives for individuals aged 11 to 19. After her win, Jannah expressed her disbelief, stating, “I’m still shaking. The award made me realize how much work I’ve done and how important youth work is.”
Another highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Youth Worker of the Year award to Thomas Stoneman from Stepney Bank Stables. His commitment to nurturing young talent has been pivotal in providing essential opportunities for youth development in the region.
Guests were treated to exhilarating performances from local talent, including the MK Diamonds Cheerleaders, Room 14 DofE Band, and singer Jack McQuillan, whose energy electrified the audience and underscored the event’s spirit of celebration.
Jon Niblo, CEO of NE Youth, emphasized the importance of investing in young people during challenging times. He remarked, “The Impact Awards showcase the best of what happens when young people are given opportunities to thrive. Times are tough for a lot of people right now, but we need to continue to invest in our young people. The energy, commitment, and creativity we’ve seen tonight never cease to amaze me.”
