Airbnb Launches Instacart Feature for Grocery Orders Before Stays

UPDATE: Airbnb has just announced a groundbreaking feature that allows guests to order groceries and essential supplies before their stay. This new Instacart integration is currently being tested in three major U.S. cities: Phoenix, Arizona, Orlando, Florida, and Los Angeles, California. The official launch is set for January 5, 2025, making it easier than ever for travelers to enjoy their vacations without worrying about shopping upon arrival.

This innovative feature enables guests to order a variety of items, including groceries and household essentials, up to three weeks in advance. An Airbnb spokesperson confirmed that the aim is to enhance the guest experience, ensuring they have all the necessary resources for a relaxing getaway.

Guests can place their orders directly through their Airbnb booking, with deliveries coordinated to arrive just before check-in. During the general turnover process, hosts will be notified about incoming orders anywhere from 24 hours to 3 hours prior to the guests’ arrival. This system mirrors the typical cleaning process, ensuring a seamless transition for incoming guests.

Airbnb emphasizes that hosts must adhere to strict food safety guidelines when handling these Instacart orders, ensuring that guests can enjoy their pre-ordered supplies without concern.

This development could significantly change the way travelers plan their vacations, making it easier to settle in and enjoy the accommodations without the hassle of immediate errands. It marks a shift in how Airbnb integrates local services, providing guests with a more tailored experience.

As this feature rolls out, travelers are encouraged to explore the convenience it offers, potentially making their stays more enjoyable and stress-free. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting initiative from Airbnb as it develops across the U.S.
