UPDATE: Authorities have intensified the search for Eugen Comanescu, a 41-year-old man from Surrey who has been missing since his last sighting on November 3, 2025. His vehicle, a silver Vauxhall Corsa, was discovered in a remote area of the Scottish Highlands on November 7, 2025, raising serious concerns for his welfare.
Comanescu was last seen at approximately 7:30 AM in Surrey. Police Scotland reports that his car was located between Pitagowan and Dalwhinnie around 10 PM on Friday, indicating he may have traveled into the rugged terrain of the Highlands. Inspector Susan Cook of Police Scotland stated, “It is unusual for Eugen not to be in contact with his family, and as time passes, concerns are growing for his welfare.”
The search operation is extensive, with authorities urging hillwalkers and local residents to be vigilant. Comanescu is described as being around 5ft 7ins tall, of medium build, with short dark-blond hair. He is believed to be wearing a dark grey jacket, dark trousers, and dark shoes.
