A McDonald’s branch in Wincanton, Somerset, has been recognized as one of the top locations in England, according to new research analyzing customer reviews. The study examined Google reviews for all McDonald’s outlets across the country, focusing on the percentage of five-star and one-star ratings. The findings revealed that the Wincanton branch boasts an impressive 50.55% of its reviews rated five stars, while only 9.81% received one-star ratings.
Located in Lawrence Hill, the Wincanton restaurant currently holds an overall Google rating of 4.1 stars. The research was conducted by Marc Porcar, CEO of Remove Background, who noted the geographical distribution of top-rated McDonald’s. “While the top-rated McDonald’s are generally fairly spread out across England, the south slightly dominates the ranking, and Norwich, Norfolk, is clearly a favorite among McDonald’s fans, with two locations in the top ten,” Porcar stated.
The study highlights how customer satisfaction can vary significantly, even among restaurants offering the same menu. Factors such as cleanliness, service speed, and staff friendliness likely contribute to the differing experiences reported by customers. Porcar encouraged those living near or traveling past the top-rated branches to consider stopping by. “If you are lucky enough to live near any of the top-rated branches, or planning to pass one while traveling, it might be worth stopping by to try one of the nation’s favorite McDonald’s,” he said.
In stark contrast, the research also identified the lowest-rated McDonald’s in the UK, located in Chingford, Greater London. This branch has a troubling 36.49% of its reviews rated one-star, with only 24.07% achieving five-star ratings. Its overall Google rating stands at just 2.8 stars, highlighting a significant disparity in customer satisfaction compared to the top performers.
