Influencer Lorna Luxe has shared the devastating news of her husband John Andrews‘ passing after a long and difficult battle with cancer. John lost his fight against stage four adrenal cancer, which he had been battling since April 2023, with Lorna announcing his death on Instagram this week.
In her emotional post, Lorna expressed her heartbreak, stating, “My beautiful, brave John died yesterday. I am heartbroken.” She emphasized the personal nature of their final moments together, revealing that they were at home, in their own bed, holding hands—exactly as John had wished.
John’s cancer journey was marked by periods of hope and despair. Initially diagnosed in April 2023, he entered remission after treatment. Unfortunately, the cancer returned in 2024, progressing to stage four and spreading to the brain. Despite undergoing surgery and continuing treatment, Lorna previously noted that the couple was uncertain about how much time they had left together.
Reflecting on their connection, she recalled their last conversation, where John, despite his condition, expressed his feelings simply: “rough but in love.” Lorna shared her gratitude for the support they received, particularly from the district nurses who provided care during John’s final days. She highlighted the kindness of a nurse named Anna, who significantly impacted John’s comfort and well-being.
Lorna had been open about the challenges they faced, including the need to postpone a charity event due to John’s declining health. In a social media update, she explained, “John is currently extremely unwell, and right now it isn’t the right time for me to be away from his side.” The event, initially scheduled for February 7, 2024, aimed to raise funds for Maggie’s Cancer Care and The Meath Epilepsy Charity.
Earlier in January, Lorna provided fans with updates on John’s health, revealing that he had been hospitalized over Christmas due to sepsis and that his cancer had spread to other organs, making further treatment impossible. Despite the grim prognosis, she expressed unwavering hope, stating, “We can’t lose hope.”
Throughout their 16 years of marriage, Lorna recognized John’s courage and resilience. She described him as “possibly the bravest person I know,” emphasizing his steadfast mindset even in the face of severe health challenges.
As Lorna navigates this profound loss, she continues to share her journey with her followers, expressing gratitude for the outpouring of love and support from friends and the community. In her heartfelt message, she acknowledged, “Our community has truly kept us going.”
The couple’s story serves as a poignant reminder of the power of love and support during life’s most challenging moments.
