Workshop Empowers Students on SEPA Benefits in Montenegro

A workshop titled “Europe Without Borders in Payments: Discover the Advantages of the SEPA System” is set to take place on February 6, 2026, at the Tanasije Pejatović Gymnasium in Montenegro. This event, organized by the Ministry of European Affairs and the Center for Finance, in collaboration with the gymnasium and the Secondary Vocational School “Pljevlja”, aims to enhance students’ understanding of the SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area) system and its benefits for Montenegrin citizens. The workshop is part of the larger EU4ME project, which the European Union funds.

The workshop will commence at 12:10 PM. Its primary objective is to inform the youth about the advantages of Montenegro’s EU accession and future membership. Organizers hope to encourage active participation among students in the European integration process while also raising their financial literacy.

Opening remarks will be delivered by Bojana Bošković, the State Secretary at the Ministry of European Affairs, alongside Ivana Katnić from the Center for Finance. The workshop will feature discussions led by Jela Rakočević from the Central Bank of Montenegro and Nina Perunović from the Center for Finance. They will delve into the SEPA system and explore its potential advantages for citizens of Montenegro.

To engage participants further, a knowledge quiz will be held during the workshop, with prizes awarded to the top-performing students. This interactive element is designed to reinforce learning and foster a competitive spirit among attendees.

By bridging the gap between financial systems and young people, this initiative aims to equip them with the essential knowledge needed for their future financial decisions, promoting both personal and national economic growth.
