Scott Sinclair Responds to Helen Flanagan’s Criticism on Social Media

Former Celtic player Scott Sinclair has seemingly addressed criticism from his ex-fiancée, Helen Flanagan, following her derogatory remarks about him on social media. Flanagan recently referred to Sinclair as a “d**khead” after he missed their son Charlie’s nativity play. The couple, who share three children—Matilda, Delilah, and Charlie—have had a tumultuous relationship since their separation.

In a recent Instagram story, Flanagan posted images of Sinclair at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, accompanied by the caption, “You really are a piece of s***. How dare you not turn up to Charlie’s nativity.” While Sinclair did not directly respond to her comments, he shared a video on social media that many interpreted as a subtle retort. The video featured him enjoying time with his children, playing football with Delilah while Matilda and Charlie watched.

Sinclair added a personal touch to the video by overlaying it with Myles Smith‘s song “My Home,” which contains lyrics emphasizing connection and love. His message appeared to underscore his commitment to his children amidst the public dispute with Flanagan.

Flanagan, in an interview with the Daily Mail, expressed her feelings about Sinclair, stating, “He’s a d**khead, but I will always have love for him.” She described their relationship following the breakup as “hellish” and “very challenging.” Communication between them is limited, reportedly occurring only through her father. She cryptically mentioned, “there is so much worse” she could say about their past relationship.

In her book, Head & Heart, Flanagan disclosed that she experienced a mental health crisis after their split, leading her to believe that a neighbour was conspiring against her. “I’d concocted this ludicrous story that he was a drug smuggler, working with my ex-fiancé, the former Manchester City, Chelsea and Aston Villa footballer Scott Sinclair,” she wrote. Flanagan admitted to struggling with intrusive thoughts, describing her mind as a “battlefield” filled with vivid and often violent imagery.

As the situation unfolds, Sinclair’s representatives have been approached for comments regarding his social media activity. The evolving narrative highlights the complexities of their personal lives and the challenges of co-parenting amid public scrutiny.
