NI Water has successfully completed a significant £2 million infrastructure improvement project in Bushmills, Northern Ireland. This initiative involved the installation of a larger diameter pipeline extending 3.8 kilometers from the Craig Park Service Reservoir to a connection point at the junction of Cozies Road and Cabragh Road.
The upgraded pipeline is set to enhance the water supply for customers in Bushmills and its surrounding areas. This investment aims to futureproof the local water supply and minimize the occurrence of pipe bursts that could disrupt service.
Enhancing Water Security for the Community
Anna Delargy, Project Manager at NI Water, expressed her appreciation for the collaborative efforts that made the project possible. She stated, “The new main will provide an essential water supply system and ensure the security of supply and ongoing provision of high-quality drinking water to our customers in Bushmills and the surrounding area.”
Delargy also acknowledged the support of the wider NI Water project team, including the contractor Farrans-Glanua JV and engineering consultancy WSP. Their contributions were vital in completing this essential scheme, which aims to safeguard the local drinking water supply for generations to come.
The completion of this project is a crucial step toward ensuring that residents and businesses in Bushmills have reliable access to clean and safe drinking water. NI Water continues to prioritize infrastructure enhancements that not only meet current demands but also anticipate future growth in the area.
Improving water infrastructure is essential in maintaining public health and supporting community development. As the population grows, initiatives like this become increasingly important, helping to secure resources for both present and future generations.
