The new show is set to premiere on February 12, 2024, offering viewers a glimpse into McGee’s latest project, which blends elements of mystery and humor.

The series revolves around three lifelong friends in their late 30s: Saoirse, a clever yet chaotic TV writer; Robyn, a glamorous and stressed mother of three; and Dara, a dependable but inhibited carer. Their lives take an unexpected turn when they receive an email informing them of the death of Greta, the estranged fourth member of their childhood group. This revelation sparks a thrilling adventure as the trio navigates a series of eerie occurrences following Greta’s wake.

“This is the show I’ve always wanted to make; a mash-up of my two favourite genres, mystery and comedy,” McGee shared with Netflix’s companion site, Tudum. She expressed excitement about introducing audiences to the characters and the unique journey they undertake, stating, “We want to keep you guessing and keep you laughing.”

The lead roles are portrayed by Roísín Gallagher as Saoirse, Sinéad Keenan as Robyn, and Caoilfhionn Dunne as Dara. The ensemble cast includes familiar faces from Derry Girls, such as Ardal O’Hanlon, Peter Campion, and Erin Quinn. Additional cast members feature Michelle Fairley, known for her role in Game of Thrones, alongside Natasha O’Keeffe, Emmett Scanlan from Peaky Blinders, and Bronagh Gallagher from The Commitments.

With its mix of humor and suspense, How to Get to Heaven from Belfast promises to deliver an engaging narrative filled with unexpected turns and lively character interactions.
