UPDATE: A 22-year-old man has been arrested following a dramatic police chase that ended with the seizure of 50 wraps of suspected crack cocaine and heroin in Bootle. The incident unfolded early this morning, around 7 AM on January 9, 2023, when officers spotted a man riding a Sur-ron bike.
As police patrolled Fleetwoods Lane, they pursued the rider to a nearby block of flats, where he attempted to flee. Officers quickly apprehended him and conducted a search, uncovering not only the drugs but also cash and a mobile phone. The suspect is now in custody facing charges of driving without insurance and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.
Inspector Michelle Butland commended the swift action of the officers, stating, “Thanks to their efforts, a large amount of dangerous drugs has been uncovered and removed from our streets in Bootle.” This operation is part of the Merseyside Police’s ongoing Winter of Action, a significant initiative aimed at enhancing safety in town centers by tackling crime and reassuring communities.
