Around 01:00 on October 17, 2023, the Niksic Police in Montenegro apprehended a 21-year-old individual, identified as V.N., near a local hospitality venue. Authorities describe him as an operationally interesting person with a history of criminal offenses. During the stop, police discovered that V.N. was wearing a ballistic protective vest and was in illegal possession of a 9 mm pistol manufactured by Czech Zbrojovka, along with ammunition.
According to the police statement, both the firearm and the protective vest were confiscated from V.N. He was subsequently taken to the Niksic Security Department. Following an order from the state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Niksic, V.N. faces charges for the illegal possession and carrying of weapons and explosives. He will be presented to a competent state prosecutor for further proceedings within the legal timeframe.
In a separate operation, officers from the Intervention Unit conducted a vehicle inspection involving a Volkswagen Passat with Tivat registration plates. The driver, identified as M.T., 31, also from Niksic, was found in possession of an automatic starter pistol manufactured by Ekol, which contained 11 rounds of ammunition. Additionally, two boxes with 77 more rounds were confiscated. M.T. was issued a citation for violating Article 27 of the Weapons Law.
The Niksic Police also detained another operationally interesting individual, V.V., a 20-year-old from Niksic, who was found to be driving under the influence of psychoactive substances. He will face charges in accordance with relevant laws.
