Plans for a significant housing development in Medstead are moving forward, with two public consultations scheduled for January 2024. Developers Bewley Homes and CALA Homes (Southern) aim to construct homes on two sites that span a total of 106 acres located east and west of Lymington Bottom Road.
The consultations will take place at Four Marks Village Hall on January 13, 2024, from 14:00 to 18:00, and at Medstead Village Hall on January 14, 2024, from 14:00 to 19:30. These events are designed to engage the local community and gather feedback before an outline planning application is submitted to East Hampshire District Council in 2026.
A spokesperson for the developers expressed their intent to involve the public in the planning process, stating, “Before an outline planning application is submitted to East Hampshire District Council in 2026, we want to hear what you have to say.” Attendees will have the opportunity to review the proposed plans, engage directly with the developers, and provide their input.
The initiative aims to address the growing housing demand in the area while ensuring that community concerns are considered. For more details regarding the consultations, interested individuals can contact the developers at 0800 689 5209 or visit their website at www.lymingtonbottomroad.co.uk.
As housing developments become increasingly vital to local economies and communities, public participation in these discussions remains crucial to achieve a balance between development needs and community interests.
