Influencer Eunice Ng Faces Investigation for Alleged Animal Mistreatment

A Singaporean influencer, Eunice Ng, known online as ‘Mermaid Girl’, is under investigation following allegations of mistreatment and lewd acts involving her dog, Fleur De Elise, affectionately called Fleurry. The inquiry began after the National Parks Board (NParks) received reports concerning videos that raised concerns about the treatment of her pet.

Ng, who has reportedly deleted her Instagram account, initially drew public ire after posting a video that appeared to show someone hitting a dog. Many users believed this to be Ng scolding her own dog, prompting multiple reports to NParks. The situation escalated when a video surfaced on TikTok, leading to a renewed investigation into Ng’s alleged involvement in inappropriate behavior with her dog.

Volunteers from an animal welfare group, including one identified as Josephine, investigated Ng’s social media profiles. They discovered listings for sexual services, including one labeled ‘dog play’, which did not contain a description. Josephine also found photographs of Ng with Fleurry that were considered suggestive, one of which was captioned, “Who wants to be my dog?”

In response to these allegations, Ng vehemently denied any wrongdoing. She stated, “Lol it’s my pet, it can do whatever it wants. I don’t see anything wrong with it.” Ng clarified that ‘dog play’ refers to a BDSM service where clients are treated as dogs, not involving her pet in any sexual manner. She emphasized that no sexual acts occur between her and Fleurry, stating, “I don’t believe in gentle parenting. I love and care for my dog a lot.”

Ng defended her disciplinary methods, explaining that a video of her allegedly scolding Fleurry was part of her approach to training. She expressed her commitment to her dog’s well-being, mentioning that she regularly takes Fleurry to various dog events and personally handles grooming tasks.

As of her latest post on December 20, 2023, Ng shared a photo of herself with Fleurry, captioned, “Mummy’s gonna miss you.” It is unclear whether this statement indicates that the dog has been removed from her care.

The ongoing investigation by NParks aims to address the serious allegations raised against Ng. The case has highlighted the ongoing discussions surrounding pet ownership responsibilities and the treatment of animals in social media contexts.
