UPDATE: Budućnost Volleyball is on the brink of a breakthrough as they aim for a Final Four spot in the MEVZA League. With just two wins under their belt, the team is set to face crucial matches in Maribor today and tomorrow, where every point is vital.
The Podgorica-based team boasts a record of two victories against Budva (3:1) and Maribor (3:0), alongside a narrow defeat to Hungary’s MAV Elorea (2:3), after leading 2:0. Currently sitting in second place in the standings, Budućnost is keen to solidify their position and secure a place in the Final Four, which could be confirmed as early as this week.
Today and tomorrow, Budućnost will compete against top Croatian teams, Mursa and Mladost from Zagreb, both matches starting at 14:00 (2 PM). On Thursday, they will conclude the league phase with an away game against Austria’s Zadruga in Bleiburg, the only team with three victories, kicking off at 19:00 (7 PM).
Coach Dejan Radić expressed confidence, stating, “After an outstanding start in the MEVZA League, where we showcased exceptional quality, we are looking forward to these matches. We aim to prove our worth once again and secure one of the top four spots leading us to the Final Four. This is a chance for our team to play at a high level and we are incredibly motivated.”
Meanwhile, Budva, the other Montenegrin representative, will play only one match by the end of the year, facing Zadruga in Bleiburg. Budva shares a similar record of 2-1, having secured victories against Maribor and MAV Elorea at home, but lost to Budućnost.
As the excitement builds, fans and supporters are eager to see if Budućnost can clinch their place in the Final Four. The upcoming matches are not just crucial for standings but also for the morale and momentum of the team as they push forward in the league.
