UPDATE: Warwickshire’s nine recycling centres have just announced their holiday hours, making it easier for residents to dispose of waste during the festive season. The online booking system, previously required, has been paused for a trial period, allowing locals to visit without appointments.
This change is particularly significant as residents gear up for the festive rush. Officials warn that the recycling centres are expected to be busy, especially during peak days like December 27 and December 28. Locals are advised to plan their visits wisely, particularly avoiding the first hour of opening to minimize wait times.
All sites will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day. On Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, the centres will close early at 12:30 PM. For the rest of the holiday season, recycling centres will open from 9:30 AM to 3:15 PM on weekdays and from 8:30 AM to 4:15 PM on weekends.
Councillor Darren Cheshire, the cabinet member for the environment, heritage, and culture, emphasized the importance of planning visits. “Don’t forget, there’s no need to book a slot at any of the Warwickshire recycling centres this Christmas, so it’s even easier to recycle any excess waste over the festive period,” he stated. He also highlighted the rise in recycling rates in 2025, noting, “Small actions really do make a difference.”
Residents are encouraged to time their visits strategically to avoid peak traffic at the centres. The first hour after opening typically sees the highest volume of visitors. By January 14, all sites are expected to return to normal operations.
For those looking to stay updated on recycling practices and to plan their visits effectively, further information is available on the official Warwickshire recycling website. This holiday season, residents are urged to recycle responsibly, contributing to a more sustainable community.
Stay tuned for further updates as the festive season approaches.
