This significant operation was executed by the Police Service’s International Policing Unit, marking a critical step in addressing serious criminal allegations.
The man faces charges for two offences of rape and six offences of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, while the woman is wanted for three offences of assault and three offences of child cruelty. These crimes reportedly occurred in the Enniskillen area between February 2020 and June 2021.
Authorities confirm that both suspects were initially arrested on September 10, 2025, in the Gozo region of Malta. Following successful extradition proceedings, they are expected to appear before the Enniskillen Magistrates’ Court on Monday, December 15, 2025, where more details about their alleged crimes will be revealed.

This case is notable as it represents a first for the Police Service of Northern Ireland, showcasing their relentless pursuit of justice. “Our message is clear to anyone who has left Northern Ireland: there are consequences for your actions. We will continue to work with our national and international partners to ensure offenders are brought before the courts,” added Sergeant Davey.
The successful extradition underscores the ongoing commitment to justice for victims of crime and reaffirms the cooperation between international law enforcement agencies. As the situation develops, further updates will be provided, particularly as the suspects prepare for their court appearance next week.
